Job Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and organized Librarian to manage the school library and promote a culture of reading and learning among students. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining library resources, assisting students and staff, organizing educational activities, and ensuring efficient library operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the school library’s collection of books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and digital resources.
• Catalog, classify, and organize library materials for easy access.
• Issue and receive books and maintain borrowing records.
• Assist students and teachers in locating and utilizing library resources.
• Promote reading habits through book fairs, reading programs, storytelling sessions, and literary events.
• Recommend new books and educational resources based on curriculum requirements.
• Maintain library inventory and conduct periodic stock verification.
• Ensure proper care, preservation, and security of library materials.
• Manage digital library systems and online learning resources.
• Prepare library reports and maintain records of library activities.
• Support academic and research needs of students and staff.
• Maintain a quiet, welcoming, and student-friendly library environment.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib.Sc.) or related field.
• Master’s Degree in Library Science (M.Lib.Sc.) is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of library management systems and cataloging methods.
• Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with digital resources.
• Previous experience as a Librarian is preferred.

Salary

₹15,000 – ₹35,000 per month (based on qualifications, experience, and institution).
